Sharon Stone’s still got it.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 63, nodded to her iconic leg-crossing scene from “Basic Instinct” for Elle Spain’s May 2021 cover, posing on a wooden stool in just a white tank top, underwear and gold heels.
In an unforgettable sequence from the 1992 erotic thriller, Stone’s leggy character, Catherine Tramell, reveals she’s going commando while clad in a dangerously short white turtleneck dress and matching coat.
It’s not the first time the star has referenced the scandalous scene; in 2019, she struck a spread-leg post for Vogue Portugal’s “Sex Issue” in a plunging bodysuit, fishnets and stilettos. She also re-enacted the titillating moment at the GQ Men of the Year Awards that same year, sharing a powerful message about owning one’s sexuality in the process.
Stone opens up about her “Basic Instinct” role in her new memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice,” revealing that she was led to believe the flashing scene — which she viewed for the first time in “a room full of agents and lawyers” — wouldn’t be quite so graphic.
“That was how I saw my vagina-shot for the first time, long after I’d been told, ‘We can’t see anything — I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on,’” she wrote.
“Basic Instinct” director Paul Verhoeven previously said Stone is “lying,” telling Icon in 2017, “Any actress knows what she’s going to see if you ask her to take off her underwear and point there with the camera.”
As for why Stone allowed the use of the footage in the final cut? “It was correct for the film and for the character; and because, after all, I did it,” she wrote in her memoir.
