#Dorohedoro Sequel’s New Teaser Visual Reveals 2025 Release Date, Yuichiro Hayashi’s Return

A second teaser visual for the Dorohedoro anime’s sequel has been released, and with it comes the reveal of the show’s 2025 premiere and the return of director Yuichiro Hayashi (Attack on Titan Final Season) and animation production studio MAPPA

The visual doesn’t contain a fancy illustration, but instead plasters various storyboard sheets from the new season.

Dorohedoro is based on the Shogakukan-published violent fantasy manga by Q Hayashida, which was serialized from 2000 to 2018 and has been collected into 23 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes it as:

In a city so dismal it’s known only as “the Hole,” a clan of Sorcerers have been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious “experiments” in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they’re hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they’ll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of “cleaners” into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.

Season 1’s staff includes Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan Final Season) as the series composer, Tomohiro Kishi (Attack on Titan Final Season) as the character designer, and Yuki Nomoto as the 3DCG director.

Wataru Takagi voiced main protagonist Caimon while Rei Kondo voiced main heroine Nikaido. Other cast members included Kenyu Horiuchi as En, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shin, and Yuu Hayashi as Noi.

The Dorohedoro sequel was announced in January 2024. Season 1 aired in 2020.

The Dorohedoro manga debuted in the now-defunct Monthly IKKI and later moved to the also-now-defunct Hibana. It ended in Monthly Sunday.
