#Natsume Yujin-cho New Anime Sets Theatrical Release Date to January 16, 2021

 

 

Along with a key visual, Aniplex announced today that a new anime film based on Yuki Midorikawa's supernatural mystery shoujo manga Natsume Yujin-cho is set to be released in 65 theaters in Japan from January 16, 2021, for a limited time. Advance tickets with a postcard will go on sale at the theaters on October 10, 2020.

 

As reported, the film Natsume Yujin-cho: Ishi Okoshi to Ayashiki Raihousha (Natsume Yujin-cho: The Waking Rock and the Strange Visitor) is based on the manga's two popular yet-animated episodes – "Ishi Okoshi" and "Ayashiki Raihousha."

 

It is also announced that Hisako Kanemoto (Ami Mizuno / Sailor Mercury in Sailor Moon Crystal) will voice a new yokai character named Mitsumi in the "Ishi Okishi" episode. She says, "The warm atmosphere of the series is really wonderful, and I'm very happy to be playing the role of Mitsumi this time! I will do my best to express Mitsumi's thoughts and feelings. I would appreciate your support!"

In the forest, Natsume encounters a small youkai, Mitsumi, who has been in charge of "Ishi Okoshi" to wake up a divine-class youkai called Iwatetsu from its deep sleep. However, Nyanko-sensei and other yokai start plotting to take over the role of "Ishi Okoshi" in order to get the reward's sake. Natsume, who is concerned about Mitsumi, decides to help.

"Ayashiki Raihousha" story:

 

A mysterious visitor who appears to Tanuma. He comes to visit Tanuma almost every day to talk for a short time and then leaves. Natsume is worried about Tanuma when he learns that the visitor is a youkai, but Tanuma has come to enjoy interacting with it. Apparently, the youkai doesn't intend to do anything bad, but Tanuma's health starts to get worse little by little…
