#Junichi Suwabe, Yuuko Kaida & Konomi Kohara Join Hell’s Paradise Voice Cast
Three new voice actors are joining the cast of the currently airing Hell’s Paradise anime series. The 13-episode series first premiered in Japan on April 1, 2023.
Junichi Suwabe and Yuuko Kaida are voicing the Tensen, who are described as “seven hermits that rule the Shinsenkyo” and have the same appearances and voices. Suwabe and Kaida are voicing all seven of the Tensen interchangeably, which includes Rien, Ju Fa, Tao Fa, Zhu Jin, Mu Dan, Ran, and Gui Fa.
Meanwhile, Konomi Kohara is joining the voice cast as Mei — a mysterious girl that Gabimaru and his crew meet on the strange island.
The main voice cast consists of Chiaki Kobayashi as Gabimaru, Yumiri Hanamori as Sagiri, Ryouhei Kimura as Aza Chobe, Kensho Ono as Toma, Rie Takahashi as Yuzuriha, Daiki Yamashita as Senta, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Shion, Yuusuke Kobayashi as Tenza, Tetsu Inada as Tamiya Gantetsusai, and Aoi Ichikawa as Fuchi.
Kaori Makita (Saezuru Tori Wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather) is serving as the director for the anime, with Akira Kindaichi (I’m Quitting Heroing scriptwriter) as series screenwriter, Kouji Hisaki (Saezuru Tori Wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather co-main animator) as character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa (Call of the Night) as music composer. MAPPA is handling the animation production for the series.
The anime series is based on the manga by Yuuji Kaku that ran in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online magazine from January 22, 2018 to January 25, 2021. Thirteen tankoubon volumes were released in total. The series has also inspired a spin-off manga and novel. Viz Media releases the manga in English as Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.

Gabimaru, a shinobi formerly known as the strongest in Iwagakure who is now a death row convict, is told that he will be acquitted and set free if he can bring back the Elixir of Life from an island that is rumored to be the Buddhist pure land Sukhavati.
In hopes of reuniting with his beloved wife, Gabimaru heads to the island along with the executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri.
Upon arriving there, they encounter other death row convicts in search of the Elixir of Life… as well as a host of unknown creatures, eerie man-made statues, and the hermits who rule the island. Can Gabimaru find the Elixir of Life on this mysterious island and make it back home alive?
