SummerStage announces 2024 lineup

SummerStage season is almost here, and the months-long itinerary of free and benefit shows, taking place from May-October 2024 across New York City, has arrived today. Dozens of amazing artists will converge on the five boroughs for 85 different events, marking the 38th year for the annual festival.

“SummerStage is back for another incredible season of free performances,” Heather Lubov, Executive Director of City Parks Foundation, said in a press statement. “It’s always an honor to bring a lineup of both established and rising artists that celebrate the rich cultural fabric of our neighborhoods across the city to parks, all for free. Enjoying live music while outside in a park is one of the most joyful and memorable opportunities we can offer to New Yorkers, bringing neighbors and communities together for what is always a very special, shared experience.”

Below, you’ll find a selection of standout shows that we think FADER readers will enjoy. Pharcyde and Slum Village will appear at a tribute to J Dilla on July 12, and the fourth installment of MIKE’s annual Young World festival takes place on July 13 with Earl Sweatshirt, Myaap, Sideshow, and more in tow. Both events take place at Von King Park in Brooklyn. On July 7, Max Glazer and Kenny Meez will celebrate 25 years of their reggae/dancehall DJ duo Federation Sound alongside Sister Nancy, Tanto Metro, and more at the Coney Island Amphitheatre. And Funk Flex celebrates his birthday on August 18 at Central Park with an old-school hip-hop bash featuring Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh, and more. Check out our picks below, and see the full Summerstage lineup here.
