The track is the first release since her third album, Show Me How You Disappear.
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Jilian Medford, performing under the name IAN SWEET, has shared a cover on Coldplay’s moody 2005 classic “Yellow,” along with an accompanying video. Produced by Daniel Fox, the new take is a soft, almost lullaby-like ode to its original. In the Will Duncan-directed clip, Medford walks solo along a beach as dawn breaks, much like frontman Chris Martin in the original video.
“I’ve seen Coldplay live 6 times. Parachutes was the first CD I ever rented from the library, and it changed my life,” Medford said in a press release. “I owe a lot of who I am and the way I write and perform music to Coldplay. I wanted to cover ‘Yellow’ because it is my go-to karaoke song, love song, breakup song, feel-good song… It’s everything.”
Medford shared her most recent album, Show Me How You Disappear back in March.
