Paul’s pick

Eagles are healthier than the first time around, and also well-rested. They can smell the NFC East title. This ends a long pre-bye stretch for the Giants, who are playing much better but almost never score enough points. You confident Daniel Jones can go another game without a turnover and that this offensive line is truly improved?

Eagles’ deep passing game vs. Giants’ secondary

Not allowing completions over the top of their defense was a Giants strength. Was a Giants strength. Last week, they allowed pass plays of 68 and 45 yards vs. Washington. Three weeks ago against the Eagles, John Hightower broke free for 59 yards, Travis Fulgham had a 40-yard catch and tight end Richard Rodgers hurt the Giants with a 30-yard reception. A possible return of Alshon Jeffrey adds to the Eagles’ weaponry. CB James Bradberry does not let the ball get over his head, but the other starting cornerback spot has been a season-long problem. Isaac Yiadom has struggled and could be out with a calf issue.

Four downs

Bat man: Dalvin Tomlinson is picking an opportune time to have his best season. The four-year veteran defensive tackle is a team captain, a quiet leader and has a knack for getting his hands on the ball. He has a career-high four batted passes this season and has an awareness to disrupt passing lanes when he cannot get to the quarterback.

“A big thing for a defensive lineman, you want to affect the quarterback in all phases,’’ Tomlinson said. “I just make sure I put a key emphasis on batting down passes or getting my hands up because that’s just as effective as a sack or a [tackle for loss] and things like that, because it gets in their head a little bit.’’

Prove it: Daniel Jones threw an interception, lost a fumble and tossed two touchdown passes the last time the Giants tangled with the Eagles. This is all part of the assessment when it comes time for the coaching staff and front office to determine if Jones is their guy moving forward.

“I’m not sure I can afford to focus on that as much as just prepare as well as I can to win a football game,’’ Jones said. “I’m doing the best I can to improve and put myself in a position to play well and put the team in a position to win games.’’

I am iron man: The funky offensive line rotation the Giants are using does not involve Kevin Zeitler. He has been on the field for 580 snaps at right tackle — every single one of them. What else is new? In his previous eight seasons, Zeitler played 100 percent of the snaps three times and 99 percent of the snaps two times. There was some talk the Giants would look to trade Zeitler, but why give up on the team’s best offensive lineman who, at 30, remains dependable and durable?

“I had only seen rumors pop up in the paper or what not,’’ Zeitler said. “Obviously, nothing came of it. I’m glad to be in New York, I’m happy to be here and to keep continuing to build this O-line.’’

Theft dept.: Forcing five turnovers, as the Giants did against Washington, is not the norm. The Giants cannot expect to live in that turnover world very often. But they should expect to take the ball away in this game. Carson Wentz has committed an NFL-high 16 turnovers (12 interceptions, four lost fumbles).

“It’s obviously something that we’ve got to fix,’’ Eagles coach Doug Pederson said. “Our ball security is a big issue offensively. The Giants are coming off a huge takeaway game and it helped them win that game.’’
