#Jets rookie Denzel Mims is no fan of ‘dirty-a–, trash-a–‘ Philadelphia

If Denzel Mims had his preference, the Jets wouldn’t be making a trip to Philadelphia as part of the preseason. The rookie wide receiver, a second round pick out of Baylor, isn’t a fan of the City of Brotherly Love.

“I didn’t like that dirty-a–, trash-a—city,” he said of Philly while playing “Call of Duty” on a livestream.

This wasn’t the first time Mims, 22, went off on Philadelphia. In April, on the “Inside The Birds” podcast, he expressed his displeasure with the city as well.

“I was very scared. I wasn’t familiar with the whole city and it was a lot going on,” Mims said. “You see a lot of people that look scary. … I had a bad experience, you could say, going up there that first time.”

The Eagles were in position to land Mims with the 53rd overall pick, but they opted for Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts. Six picks later, the Jets took Mims.

There is a chance Mims will have to return to Philly this year. The Jets were initially scheduled to visit the Eagles in Week 4 of the preseason. But a shortened preseason, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, could eliminate that trip.
