The internet is having a field day over Kendrick Perkins flubbing Moses Moody’s name at the NBA Draft, but Arkansas fans… not so much.
During ESPN’s draft coverage on Thursday night, Perkins was discussing the No. 14 overall pick to the Warriors, and said, “Modi Moozy,” before going through variations of Moody’s name — none of which were correct.
Soon after Perkins’ on-air blunder, Moody’s former team, the Razorbacks trolled him on Twitter, writing, “Hey @KendrickPerkins…it’s MO-SES MOO-DY.”
Follow tonight’s NBA Draft action
The NBA champion-turned ESPN analyst sent a playful reply acknowledging his mistake and tweeted, “Playas mess up!!!” with a few crying-laughing emojis.
But still, the internet continued to pounce on Perkins for the misstep.
“Yo. Lmfao!!! Kendrick Perkins damn near drowned trying to say Moses Moody,” actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. — a known basketball fan, who’s appeared on ESPN’s “First Take” — tweeted.
One fan tweeted, “Moses Moody just completely broke Kendrick Perkins.
Another added, “Holy cow… Kendrick Perkins somehow just mispronounced “Moses Moody” 37 times in 10 seconds.”
The jokes continued to pour in, with one Twitter user writing, “Kendrick Perkins out here with the remix of Moses Moody’s name.”
