Isekai Yakkyoku has received its second trailer, which clocks in at a lengthy two-minutes. Previewed in the pharmacology-themed isekai’s trailer are the main characters, premise, and various scenes of magic, as well as the opening song “Musouteki Chronicle” by Kaori Ishihara and the ending song “Hakuu” by Little Black Dress.

It was also announced that the show will premiere in Japan on July 10, while the staff information was refreshed to include Hosoi Tomoyasu (Pretty Boy Detective Club) as art director, Yuki Hayashi (Komi Can’t Communicate Season 2) as color designer, Yasuyuki Itou (Futsal Boys!!!!!) as photography director, and Tatsuya Katou (Sakugan) and Satoshi Honou (Love After World Domination co-composer) as music composers.

The cast side of the show also received new updates, with Kenji Nomura and Maria Naganawa announced to be playing Bruno de Médicia and Blanche de Médicia respectively.

Isekai Yakkyoku is based on the light novel series written by Liz Takayama and illustrated by keepout, which began in 2016 and has eight volumes as of July 2021. The premise sees a young pharmacologist dying from overwork and reincarnating as Falma de Médicia, the son of a family of royal doctors in another world. Despairing at the state of medicine in this world, Falma, who was reincarnated with his previous pharmacology knowledge as well as a cheat ability granting him Material Creation and Material Destruction, opens the Isekai Pharmacy with the servant Charlotte Soller and family tutor Eléonore.

The previously announced staff includes Keizou Kusakawa (Ahiru no Sora chief director) as director, Wataru Watari (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU author) as series composer and scriptwriter, and Mayuko Matsumoto (Ahiru no Sora co-key animator) as character designer. Diomedéa is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the main cast includes Aki Toyosaki as Falma, Reina Ueda as Eléonore, and Kaede Hondo as Charlotte. 

The Isekai Yakkyoku books are published under Kadokawa’s MF Books label and have inspired a manga adaptation by Sei Takano that began in 2017. The story began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2015.
