#Syracuse freshman in dead after collision with campus trolly

A Syracuse University freshman died after being struck by a campus trolley on Tuesday, reports said.

Trevor Pierce, 19, collided with the trolley about 5:25 p.m. at the intersection of Waverly and Comstock Avenues, Syracuse.com reported, citing police and university officials.

A skateboard was marked as evidence at the crime scene. It was not immediately clear if Pierce was riding it at the time of the collision.

Pierce, a political philosophy major from New Hampshire, was taken to Upstate University Hospital, but could not be saved, the report said.

“This is an unthinkable loss for Trevor’s family, friends and loved ones and the entire Syracuse University community,” Marianne Thomson, the dean of students, said in an email to students, according to the campus newspaper, The Daily Orange.

“Trevor will be greatly missed by all who knew him,” Thomson said.
