A dramatic new preview video has been published for Demons’ Crest, a new light novel series from author Reki Kawahara (Sword Art Online) and illustrator Yukiko Horiguchi (character designer for K-ON!) that pits a group of elementary school students against a mysteriously deadly artificial reality world in a video game gone wrong.

The preview video (below) features the voice talents of:

Tomo Muranaka as Yuma Ashihara.

Miyu Tomita as Sawa Ashihara.

And Sora Amamiya as Sumika Watamaki.

Set in the year 2031, Demons’ Crest follows Yuma Ashihara, an elementary school student who participates in a beta test of the world’s first full-dive VRMMO-RPG called “Actual Magic (AM)”, only to lose consciousness while playing and wake up in a world where the game and reality have merged. A death game then unfolds in “mixed reality.”

Demons’ Crest is published in Japan by ASCII Media Works (a division of KADOKAWA) under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. The first volume hits bookstores in Japan on November 10, 2022.
