“#World’s deepest diving pool opens in Poland”
With its deepest point at 147 feet the pool, called Deepspot, beats the Y-40 diving pool in the Italian town of Montegrotto Terme, which according to the Guinness Book of World Records has a maximum depth of 137 feet.
The main part of the pool is 65 feet deep and the deepest part is surrounded by a large concrete tube. Visitors who prefer staying dry can use an underwater viewing tunnel located inside the pool.
The pool is suitable for divers of all skill levels and contains 8,000 cubic meters (282,517 cubic feet) of water, 27 times that of a normal swimming pool 82 feet in length, according to Deepspot’s website.
The pool is intended for people practicing sports and therefore, in line with current COVID-19 restrictions in Poland, the pool is allowed to stay open.
Deepspot will only briefly hold the title, however, as a pool currently under construction in the English city of Colchester with a maximum depth of 164 feet is due to unseat it.
