#Sweep the Board! Launches on Nintendo Switch with Day One Patch

SEGA has announced the launch of the Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! game on the Nintendo Switch today. A standard physical edition and digital standard edition of the game are now available for purchase. 

The company also released a launch trailer to officially celebrate the game’s public release. 

Those who order the digital standard edition of the game on the Nintendo eShop will unlock a special set of four Stamps featuring Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira. These stamps are used for player communication in-game and are available to use in the “Sweep the Board” game mode. 

Swordsmiths such as Haganezuka, Kanamori, and Tecchin are available in the game as support players as well, along with Kotetsu, who holds the key to the battle-type mechanical doll “Yoriichi Type Zero.” Powerful demons Gyokko and Hantengu will also appear at night, awaiting all four players to challenge them. 

SEGA also detailed the game’s Day One patch (v1.01), which players must download and install  in order to access the online and local wireless features of the game.

The following additions in the patch have been made: 

• • Online functionality (online play)
  • ○  A paid subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is required to play online.
• • Local wireless functionality (local wireless play)
• • A new virtual game board based on the Swordsmith Village Arc
• • Two new minigames, two new boss fights, and new Player Card titles and wallpapers 
  • ○ “Player Cards” are in-game profiles that can be customized with a variety of titles and wallpapers, which are then shared with other players locally and online.
• • Other adjustments and bug fixes 

The two new minigames for Sweep the Board! are described as: 

• • Food Delivery! – Deliver plates of food to a hungry Mitsuri! Players must keep a close eye on Mitsuri’s expressions as she eats. Mess up and get stunned. The player who delivers the most plates wins.
• • Mask Match – Find the specific swordsmith mask! The player who finds the most masks wins. 

Sweep the Board! was released on the Nintendo Switch in Japan earlier on April 25, 2024. It is the second overall console game in the Demon Slayer franchise after Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles, which was released in Japan and in English in Asia in October 2021.
