#Super Robot Wars 30 DLC Will Introduce Sakura Wars to the Fight

Sakura Wars in Super Robot War 30

The upcoming Super Robot Wars 30 has a stacked roster of anime robots to command, from multiple Gundams all the way up to Gridman. But if that’s still not enough for you, don’t worry: the first DLC for the game will feature even more mecha — including units from the Sakura Wars series.

The musical mecha series technically premiered in the franchise via tower defense mobile game Super Robot Wars X-Ω, but this marks its first appearance in one of the main games. The appearance of Sakura Shinguji, Erica Fontaine, and Gemini Sunrise hints at a presence from at least the Imperial, Paris, and New York Combat Revue.

Also making an appearance will be units from the 1988 novel Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children and the 1977 anime Voltes V. Plus, by popular demand, Kusuha Mizuha and Brooklyn “Bullet” Luckfield from Super Robot Wars: Original Generation will be present, in their robots RyuKoOh and KoRyuOh.

All told, the first DLC pack will include nine additional playable units and 13 additional area missions. DLC2, whose contents will be announced at a later date, will also include nine additional playable units (with two once again being from Original Generation) and 13 additional area missions.

(Note that the trailer above is for the Southeast Asia release of Super Robot Wars 30 — there is no information yet on when, or if, the DLC will be available globally.)

If you’re in Japan or Southeast Asia and can’t wait to get started, you can play a demo now. Choose the Earth or Space route and play through all four chapters of the demo, and you’ll get a completion bonus.

Super Robot Wars 30 will be the first globally-released game from the main line of the hit tactical mecha series. Players command a cast of giant robot pilots from across the history of anime, led by brand-new characters and robots, as they cross over into each other’s stories and protect the universe from armies of threats.

The game makes its worldwide debut on October 28.
