A video of two women destroying a toddler’s birthday party has sparked backlash, causing people to crowdfund nearly $10,000 for a second party. The viral video that surfaced via Instagram this week shows two women, dubbed “Karens” online, completely destroying the setup of a 3-year-old’s birthday party for allegedly being “too close” to their apartment.

A GoFundMe was launched, and it has since collected nearly $10,000 for a redo of the child’s party.

In the video posted Sunday, the women are seen beginning to destroy the entire setup of the party. The toddler’s aunt said the group was “minding our own business.”

The women can be seen flipping food from the tables and dragging tables and chairs across the lawn, which were reportedly rented for the toddler’s celebration.

“… they had the audacity to start throwing our stuff, no one was bothering them it was apartment complex property. Apparently they thought they owned everything,” she wrote.

“Cops came, nothing was done. Now my family and all have to pay for the damages they did because all those chairs and tables were rented,” she continued.

The post sparked outrage, with many users on Instagram offering support in the form of kind words or donations. “This is absolutely disgusting and rude as fuck,” wrote one user. Another user corroborated the sentiment, saying “No human being deserves to be treated like this. My heart and prayers go out to you, your family, and those affected by this horrible act of bullying.”

Shortly after, a GoFundMe was created by family members of the toddler in order to help assist in covering the costs of damages and money spent on organizing the party.

Surpassing its original goal of just over $1,250, the crowdfunding campaign has now garnered over $8,200 in donations from community members and others.

In an update, a close cousin of the family wrote via GoFundMe that the family has now raised enough to move out of the apartment complex and away from the hostile neighbors.

“My family will soon have justice and funds to help with any more expenses they will have to close this case,” they wrote. “Thank you all for being supportive and very helpful.”

The child will reportedly celebrate her birthday again this weekend at a separate venue.
