#Stranger Things Season 4 Premiere Gets Warning Card After Texas Shooting

“Stranger Things Season 4 Premiere Gets Warning Card After Texas Shooting”

Recent events have resulted in a warning card added to Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix. Per Variety, the move comes after a tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, where two teachers and 19 children were callously murdered. The event happened shortly before the launch of the new season of Stranger Things, which comes with the following disclaimer at the start of the season when fans stream the series on Netflix.

“We filmed this season of Stranger Things a year ago. But given the recent tragic shooting at a school in Texas, viewers may find the opening scene of episode 1 distressing. We are deeply saddened by this unspeakable violence, and our hearts go out to every family mourning a loved one.”

Reportedly, the disclaimer is only featured for Netflix subscribers in the United States. The streamer has also edited the description for the new season’s premiere episode to warn viewers that it contains “graphic violence involving children.” Netflix has previously released the first eight minutes of the season 4 premiere online which featured a scene involving Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven and several deceased children on the ground.

The real-life tragedy in Uvalde has also led to CBS pulling the season finale of FBI which would have focused on a shool shooting. Lifetime also pushed the release of the film The Bad Seed Returns while red carpet premieres for Physical and The Orville: New Horizons were canceled.

Stranger Things 4 Is the Penultimate Season

An end is in sight for Stranger Things. It has been announced that this fourth season is the penultimate season, as the series will end with its upcoming season 5. For now, the Duffer Brothers are giving fans a lot with a supersized season 4, with some of those episodes essentially doubling as feature-length Stranger Things movies.

You can read the official synopsis for season 4 below.

It’s been six months since The Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery, that if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

Even with the series planned to end with season 5, we still could end up exploring more of the Upside Down in the future. The Duffer Brothers have teased that they have a wonderful idea in mind for a spinoff, though no additional offers have been detailed, so leave it up to speculation as to where another Stranger Things show could go next. However, one cast member was able to figure it out, even if everyone else is still in the dark.

“We do have an idea for a spinoff that we’re super excited about … but we haven’t told anyone the idea yet, much less written it,” they recently explained. “We think everyone — including Netflix — will be surprised when they hear the concept, because it’s very, very different. But somehow Finn Wolfhard — who is one crazy smart kid — correctly guessed what it was going to be about. But aside from Finn, no one else knows!”

Stranger Things season 4, volume 1 is now streaming on Netflix. Volume 2 will premiere on July 1, 2022.
