An abandoned storage unit owned by Kobe Bryant’s former stylist, Derek Roche, in the Los Angeles area went up for auction recently and drew a top bid of $375, according to TMZ. The winner found a trove of Bryant-related treasures inside, including 35 pairs of shoes, jerseys, Lakers practice gear, an all-access Lakers badge labeled, “Mamba,” tax paperwork and a mink coat.
The storage locker treasure hunters have since flipped the unit for a hefty reward, selling it to “Storage Wars” star Rene Nezhoda for $13,000, TMZ reported. The unit won’t become part of a “Storage Wars” episode, Nezhoda told the website, but he plans to sell the items through an auction house.
The news came on Kobe Bryant Day in Los Angeles — 8/24, marking his two numbers with the Lakers — and nearly seven months after the star and his daughter, Gigi, were killed in a helicopter crash.
