#Steve Cohen’s wife Alex bringing hilarious Mets love to Twitter

“Life-long Mets fan” Alex Cohen is bringing her New York pride to social media.

The wife of the team’s new owner, Steve Cohen, appears to have added beloved mascots Mr. and Mrs. Met to her Twitter background, days after Cohen’s bid to purchase the team for $2.4 billion was approved. Steve’s Twitter background is now a photo of Citi Field.

On Friday, Alex shared a celebratory photo of the pair as they ushered in the Cohen era.

“Celebrating together tonight — thank you all for your notes, we are beyond excited,” Alex tweeted, also sporting a new T-shirt that read, “Ya Gotta Believe in Uncle Steve.”

Alex, who has over 10,000 followers and counting, also told Mets fans Sunday they’re in the process of getting Cohen’s Twitter account verified, after the hedge-fund billionaire pressed the fanbase for feedback.

“I anticipate closing the deal in the next 10 days and then it’s off and running,” Cohen tweeted Sunday. “I would love to hear your ideas to make YOUR Mets experience better.”
