#Steve Cohen is making another big push to buy Mets

Sources close to billionaire hedge fund manager Steve Cohen tell The Post that he will bid on the Mets this week after having his $2.6 billion deal for the team fall apart in the 11th hour back in February.

Cohen, 64, is a Mets fan from childhood who has a net worth of $13 billion and would likely be the only bidder to offer the Wilpons anywhere close to the valuation they have put on the money-losing franchise.

It remains to be seen if the two parties can overcome the bad blood that scuttled the deal in February, but insiders have told The Post for weeks that he is monitoring the sale and that no other group will come close to the $2 billion minimum number the Wilpons and their bankers are hoping for.
