#Sports cars crash in Switzerland causing $4 million in damages

Two suped-up sports cars in Switzerland may have broken a record – but for the wrong reason.

Onlookers driving through the Gotthard Pass in the Swiss Alps this week got a close up look at a particularly pricey crash scene involving a motor home, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class wagon, a Porsche 911 Cabriolet and a Bugatti Chiron. The Chiron alone costs about $3 million, and the total value of the damaged vehicles is likely north of $4 million, according to CarBuzz, which called it “one of the world’s most expensive car crashes.”

A video of the wreckage was posted on Instagram by the user @vdhautomotive showing both the Bugatti and the Porsche with their airbags deployed.

A report from a local news publication called 20 Minuten alleges the motor home was likely moving slowly and holding up traffic, and the driver of the Chiron and the Porsche driver both tried to overtake the motor home, and they crashed. Then the Porsche hit the Mercedes and the Bugatti hit the motor home.

Fortunately, while the owner of the Mercedes was taken to a nearby hospital, everyone survived the wreck.
