Snoop Dogg has enjoyed a Hall-of-Fame rap career over the last three decades but he’s still hungry for more success despite his longevity.

The West Coast icon recently joined the TFM podcast where he explained what exactly keeps him striving to continue taking his decorated career to new heights even in his 50s.

“I hate losing. I love to win and I’m a sore loser. If I ain’t winning, I’m losing. There ain’t no in-between. So if working, if I’m hopping and bopping, I’m with it,” Snoop explained. “You know, it’s beautiful sometimes to sit back and be in the studio working on a song, then a commercial come on, and I’m on the commercial. And then walk out the hallway and then hear me on the radio.”

He continued: “That’s work. It don’t make me want to say, ‘Let’s go on vacation. I’m doing well.’ It makes me want to say, ‘I need more. I’m hungry. I want more.’”

It’s felt like Snoop Dogg has lived five different lives throughout his career. Whether he’s musically coloring outside the lines and recording a gospel album or drafting up his own cookbook, there’s almost nothing he wouldn’t give a try. He’s even a playable character in Call of Duty: Warzone.

The Long Beach icon refuses to be boxed into one area of expertise when it comes to his creativity. On the music side, he’s still keeping busy as well.

Snoop teamed up with DJ Drama for their Gangsta Grillz: I Still Got It mixtape in October and last week, he reunited with E-40, Ice Cube and Too $hort to unleash the group’s Mount Westmore album. 

The “Gin & Juice” rapper recently reflected on his first bit of growth as an artist when 2Pac taught him how to be a “star” and dress like a “pimp,” which saw Snoop change up his image and wardrobe choices post-Doggystyle.

“I’m still dressing like a n-gga from the hood — khakis, Chucks,” Snoop said. “That n-gga like, ‘Me and you finna have a meeting… We stepping our game up. We gotta change your look, Snoop Dogg. You a pimp, n-gga. Bitches love you. You fly. You gotta start showing your fly side!”
