Slayyyter announced the upcoming release of her debut album Troubled Paradise, set to drop on June 11th, alongside sharing the album’s title track. The single serves as the follow-up to earlier singles “Self Destruct” feat. Wuki and “Throatzillaaa” from last year.
On “Troubled Paradise,” Slayyyter reflects on lost love and heartbreak over retro wave-tinged production, a departure from the braggadocio of her previous singles. “Was I sweet enough? / Please tell me the truth / Did you love me too,” she wonders on the track. An 80s-inspired, Munachi Osegbu-directed video for the track is set to premiere on Friday afternoon.
