Sanrio’s rock band-themed character franchise SHOW BY ROCK!!, which was launched in 2012, has announced a special project for its forthcoming 10th-anniversary, titled “Road to 2022!! Aim for the 10th-anniversary! SHOW BY ROCK!!! Five Big Projects!”
The first phase of the project, “A music video project with rockers for a new song!” will include two crowdfunding campaigns to produce new music videos.
The first one is for Mashumairesh!!‘s new song “Trigger Rock,” and it will be the first live-action MV for the franchises and the unit. The four cast members of the unit have been practicing their instruments for over a year and have performed at many live concerts. The goal of the crowdfunding campaign is 1,500,000 yen (about 13,700 USD), and it is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. on March 27 (JST).
The second one is for yet-titled new songs by the six bands who have been active since the early days – Uwasanopetals, Shizuku Secret Mind, Studdo Ban Gyasshu, Dolly Dolci, Ninjinriot, and Baiganba V. The theme of each song will be decided in the live-streaming program with the staff on April 7. Its crowdfunding will follow soon.
