#Off-duty NYC employee charged with assaulting his wife

An off-duty city employee is under arrest for allegedly punching his wife in their Queens residence, police said.

Cops collared city Department of Corrections Officer Rene Richards, 34, shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, authorities said. Richards is accused of punching his 33-year-old spouse in the face during a “domestic incident,” police said.

The victim suffered lacerations to her nose and lip and Richards was charged with assault and harassment, an NYPD spokesman said. No other information was available.
