Surveillance video captures Anthony Robinson crossing Sheridan Avenue, holding the hand of his 6-year-old daughter, when a gunman shot him dead.

The killer in the dark sedan waited until the 29-year-old father had his back turned, then stuck his handgun out the window and opened fire.
Your daddy killed before your eyes, your hand in his. How horrific. How cruel.
That execution came about 6 p.m. Sunday. Another video (both tweeted by NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison) from that night shows two men shot dead and another wounded in an ambush in the hallway of a Bronx apartment building.
Such were three of at least eight murders across the city over the weekend. The rising death toll is scary, but so are the details of every homicide.
Or could’ve-been-homicide: Another NYPD-released video shows a man opening fire as he stands in the entrance of a Brooklyn apartment building about 1 a.m. on Friday — just moments after a child has walked in ahead of him.
If his target had fired back, a stray shot easily could have claimed an innocent life — as could any of the actual gunman’s several shots.
And sometimes children are the targets: Several bullets hit a 14-year-old boy early Monday evening in Queens — one a potentially fatal hit to the neck. Police say two individuals were aiming at the youth.
Last week saw 101 New Yorkers injured or killed by gunfire; the last time that grim number topped 100 was in June 1995.
New York City is rushing back to the days when mothers had their children sleep in the bathtub, for fear of stray bullets.
Do something, Mr. Mayor.
