#Shojo Romance Manga Promise Cinderella Gets Live-Action TV Drama

A key visual for the upcoming Promise Cinderella TV drama, featuring actor Fumi Nikaido as the lead character, Hayame Katsuragi, a former housewife who ends up out on the streets after her husband divorces her.

 

Promise Cinderalla, an age / power gap shojo romance manga by Oreco Tachibana about a former house wife who ends up impoverished after her cheating husband divorces her and kicks her out, is being adapted into a live-action TV drama that will broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System beginning in July of 2021.

 

The main staff for the series has been revealed, including:

  • Original work: Promise Cinderella by Oreco Tachibana (published by Shogakukan via their Ura Shonen Sunday Comics label and the MangaOne manga app)
  • Screenplay: Kazunao Furuya
  • Producer: Fumi Hashimoto, Daichi Hisamatsu
  • Director: Shôsuke Murakami, Jun’ichi Tsuzuki
  • Planning: Miki Sato

 

Actor Fumi Nikaido (pictured above) plays the leading role as former housewife Hayame Katsuragi.

The story of Promise Cinderella follows Hayame Katsuragi, a housewife who leads a calm and peaceful life until her husband divorces her and kicks her to the curb. After she loses her last meager savings to a pickpocket, Hayame is left destitute and homeless until she runs into a spoiled, rich high school boy named Issei who offers to be her “prince charming” if Hayame is willing to accept his cruel wager.

 

The live-action Promise Cinderella TV drama will broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System on Tuesdays during the 22:00 time slot (10:00pm JST) beginning in July of 2021. Each episode will be approximately 1 hour in length.
