“My Hero Academia Season 5 OVAs To Stream Worldwide on August 1”

At a My Hero Academia stage greeting event, it has been revealed that two OVAs for season five will stream worldwide on August 1, 2022. Both OVAs will have an early pre-screening at this year’s Anime Expo on July 1, 2022.

The first OVA is a baseball-themed episode titled “Hero League Baseball” and the second one is “Laugh! As If You Are in Hell,” which focuses on Endeavor’s hero intern team battling the evil villain, Smiley.

The event also featured appearances from voice actors Daiki Yamashita and Junichi Suwabe, who voice Izuku Midoriya and Shouta Aizawa respectively.

My Hero Academia is based on the manga by Kouhei Horikoshi, which was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 7, 2014. 34 tankoubon volumes have been published in total so far. The anime television series first began in 2016, releasing three anime films throughout the years. Both the films and TV series have had their animation produced by Bones.

The upcoming sixth season of the My Hero Academia anime franchise will premiere sometime this fall. Crunchyroll will stream the series in North America as it airs in Japan. They describe the series as:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.
