The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors is part of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER) multimedia franchise, which began with a 2005 arcade game that was ported to the Xbox 360 in 2007. Another upcoming CG anime, The Idolmaster Million Live!, is set to premiere in October.

Previous The Idolmaster anime include 2007’s Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, 2011’s The Idolmaster, 2015’s The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, 2017’s The Idolmaster SideM, and Spring 2023’s The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149.
