#Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie’s Broadcast Plans in Deliberation Following Covid Outbreak

“Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie’s Broadcast Plans in Deliberation Following Covid Outbreak”

The Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie production committee is deliberating on the Spring 2022 anime’s broadcast plans following a covid outbreak at animation production studio Doga Kobo, which is now temporarily closed.

While the first episode of the anime will go ahead with its April 9 release, the release schedule for future episodes is now vague as the production committee discusses their response. A tweet from the Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie Twitter account said that health and safety of the staff and cast were of top priority for the committee. Meanwhile, a follow-up tweet said that the broadcast discussions were so that the anime can be delivered in a better state.

Doga Kobo’s website states that the studio has been closed since April 6 and that building access will only be allowed again on April 18.

Doga Kobo’s other Spring 2022 productions, RPG Real Estate and Chiikawa, do not appear to be affected by the covid outbreak.

Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie is an adaptation of Keigo Maki‘s 2019 romantic-comedy manga about a teenager and his cute-but-also-cool girlfriend. The main staff includes Ryouta Itou (Sing “Yesterday” for Me assistant director) as director, Shouhei Yamanaka (Remake Our Life! Ep 1-7 assistant director) as assistant director, Ai Kikuchi (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) as character designer, and Ryougo Narita (Durarara!! author) as series composer. Meanwhile, the main cast includes Saori Oonishi as Shikimori and Shuuichirou Umeda as Izumi.
