For “Start Some Shyt,” Sheff G’s new Great John-produced track and video mashup, the Brooklyn rapper recruits street cinematography master Jerry Productions to document his instigating raps as he flaunts his diamond-encrusted name atop a bulletproof vest.
“100K [views] n we trending,” an excited Sheff G commented in his Instagram Story on Monday (June 28). “Keep turning this shit up.”
He followed up with the video’s No. 17 ranking on the trending charts – a feat for the first crack at YouTube in a DIY digital-heavy era.
“Start Some Shyt” coincides with Sheff G’s recent placements on the lineup of big festivals such as Rolling Loud and Summer Jam in his home state, as well as the Kendrick Lamar-headlined Day N Nite Vegas — a clear indicator more music is on the way.
