#Several airlifted after vehicle hits haunted hayride in Florida

A haunted hayride turned harrowing in Florida when it was struck by a vehicle Saturday night, forcing authorities to airlift several people to local hospitals, according to a report.

About 30 people were on the hayride when it was struck shortly before 8 p.m. in Cottondale, about 76 miles west of Tallahassee in Jackson County, WJHG-TV said in a report.

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the accident occurred but could not immediately provide details on the accident or the extent of the injuries, the outlet said.

According to WDHN-TV, the 24-foot trailer was struck around 6:30 p.m., throwing several passengers from the trailer.

The station said the driver of the vehicle that hit the trailer was among those injured and was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Dothan.

The incident came one day after 10 people, including a 2-year-old boy, were critically injured when a pick-up truck rear-ended a hayride trailer being pulled by an ATV in rural Pearl River County in Mississippi, the Clarion-Ledger said.

The collision hurled the trailer off the road and about 30 yards into the woods.

And last week a 32-year-old woman was killed and 17 others were injured in Hancock County, Illinois, when the driver of a tractor pulling the trailer lost control and fell into a ravine, ABC News in Chicago reported.
