#Senpai is an Otokonoko’s Main Trailer Released

The main trailer for the upcoming Senpai is an Otokonoko anime adaptation has been released.

It was also announced that Mai Nakahara and Kaori Maeda are joining the cast as Mika Hanaoka and Konatsu Taiga, respectively. Additionally, Nishina has been revealed as the featured artist for the ending song “Are ga Koi datta no ka na” by Whale Don’t Sleep.

Senpai is an Otokonoko will premiere in Japan on July 4 (effectively July 5 at 12:55 AM JST). The anime is based on the LINE Digital Frontier-published manga by Pomu, which placed first in the 5th Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking and was the 2nd runner-up in the web category of Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishou 2021. Webtoons describes the source material as:

Can true love really overcome any obstacles? Saki, a high school student, confesses her feelings to Makoto. Taken aback, Makoto reveals his secret, but the sudden discovery doesn’t seem to bother Saki who is already head over heels for him. After being rejected, Saki asks Ryuji, Makoto’s childhood friend, for some advice on how to win his heart. A love triangle unfolds when Ryuji realizes that he might also have some feelings for his old friend.

The Senpai is an Otokonoko manga started serialization on Line Manga in 2019 and has eight tankoubon volumes from Ichijinsha as of April 2024. Crunchyroll will stream the show.
