#Seinfeld Soundtrack Getting First Official Release

At long last, the original soundtrack for Seinfeld is getting an official release, as Variety points out. The 33-track collection of music composed by Jonathan Wolff is out tomorrow (July 2) via WaterTower Music. It will be available on all major streaming platforms.

The Seinfeld OST will mark the first time music for Seinfeld will be available outside of its original television context. The show ran on NBC between 1989 and 1998. Composer Jonathan Wolff told Variety: “It struggled for the first few seasons. We were an accidental hit. We were busy getting episodes out, and nobody was thinking about the music. And that’s OK.”

In addition to Seinfeld’s brief yet iconic theme song, the soundtrack will feature a number of styles, as Variety points out. They include hip-hop for “Kramer’s Pimpwalk,” whistling and guitars for “Jerry the Mailman,” suspenseful music for “Cable Guy vs. Kramer Chase,” and more.
