#Secrets Are Revealed in ‘True’ Key Visual for The Detective is Already Dead TV Anime

The great detective Siesta investigates the mystery of an empty airliner in a scene from the upcoming The Detective is Already Dead TV anime.

 

A new key visual that sheds light on previous mysteries has been published for The Detective is Already Dead (known in Japan as Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. or “Tanmoshi” for short), a currently broadcasting TV anime based on the mystery / romantic comedy / battle action light novel series written by nigozyu and illustrated by Umibouzu about a young man who tries to resume a normal high school life after being the partner to a globe-trotting “great detective”.

 

A new key visual for the upcoming The Detective is Already Dead TV anime, featuring the main characters Kimihiko Kimizuka and Nagisa Natsunagi standing in an ordinary Japanese high school classroom. Kimihiko stands next to an open window with a billow white curtain, while Nagisa stands between some desks with a strip of red cloth encircling her feet. The chalkboard is covered in complex anatomical sketches depicting nerves, a brain, a human heart, and a biological cycle.

 

The original key visual (above) features main characters Kimihiko Kimitsuka and Nagisa Natsunagi standing in their high school class room with contemplative expressions on their faces. The ‘true’ key visual (below) is a variation on the same, although now it depicts Nagisa and Siesta standing back-to-back and holding hands within a circle formed by Siesta’s red ribbon, implying the connection between the two characters that is confirmed in Episode 2.

The Detective is Already Dead TV anime is directed by Manabu Kurihara and features animation production by ENGI. The series is currently broadcasting in Japan, and it is also available via streaming in the United States from Funimation, who describe the story of the series as follows:

 

Thwarting a hijacking with the beautiful, silver-haired detective, Siesta, transforms Kimihiko’s young life. Their success kicks off years of crime-solving and confronting syndicates around the world—until Siesta dies. Left with questions, Kimihiko moves on. But now, a new case may open healed wounds as it connects to an assassin, a world conspiracy, and his dead partner!
