A search is underway Wednesday for a missing Amish woman who disappeared after attending a church service in Pennsylvania, police said.

Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, of East Lampeter Township, was last seen Sunday at a farm on Stumptown Road in Bird-In-Hand while wearing a tan dress, white apron and a white cape, East Lampeter Township police said.

“Trained search personnel are utilizing dogs, horses, ATV equipment and drones to supplement the expanding search area,” police said in a statement. “Detectives are actively following up all leads and interviewing family members and friends for information.”

Investigators are “still attempting to figure out what may have happened” to Stoltzfoos, while not ruling out foul play, Lt. Matthew Hess told LancasterOnline.com.

“We are investigating all angles of this incident,” Hess told the outlet.

Stoltzfoos’ parents contacted police after she failed to return home Sunday, NBC News reports.

A Michigan mayor has resigned amid criticism for saying she’d…

“There is no reason for us to believe that she wanted to just leave,” Hess told NBC News. “She did not indicate to anyone that she wanted to leave or take a trip. From what we understand, just running off without telling anyone would be very out of character for Linda.”

Stoltzfoos, whose disappearance is being treated as a missing persons case, is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police at (717) 291-4676.

Stoltzfoos’ family and other members from her Amish community are taking part in Wednesday’s search, according to a post on a Facebook page set up to find the woman.

“A new day,” read the post, which featured a photo of a grassy field.

A message seeking comment from East Lampeter Township police was not immediately returned.
