#Scream Coming To Digital Tomorrow, Blu-Ray In April

If there’s any upside to the current nostalgia-obsessed craze that Hollywood blockbusters find themselves in these days, it’s the fact that the “Scream” template provides clever filmmakers with the perfect opportunity to have their cake and eat it, too: directly commenting on the shortcomings of this trend while, at the same time, delivering an entertaining (and somewhat formulaic, in my view) romp that gets to feel a little superior to all the rest. In addition to the returning legacy cast, “Scream” stars Melissa Barrera as new protagonist Sam Carpenter, Jenna Ortega as her sister Tara, Jack Quaid as Sam’s boyfriend Richie, and a close-knit group of friends portrayed by Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Sonia Ammar.

As mentioned, the digital release date is set for March 1, 2022, while the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD will be made available on April 5, 2022. In an environment where far too many studios skimp on behind-the-scenes features for the home release of major movies, fans of “Scream” can look forward to deleted scenes, cast interviews, filmmaker commentary tracks, and even an extended look at the legacy that Wes Craven left behind. The full list of features include:
