#Demon Slayer Season 2 To Get Hour-Long Premiere on December 5

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc will premiere on December 5 in Japan and on Crunchyroll and Funimation. It will kick off with an hour-long premiere that introduces a new major demon named Daki, who is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro.

The opening episode will feature the opening song “Zankyosanka” and the ending song “Asa ga kuru” by Aimer.

Prior to Entertainment District Arc‘s release, there will be a seven-episode TV broadcast version of the Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train movie with new content that is meant to connect the first Demon Slayer season’s Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc with the Entertainment District Arc.

The returning staff includes Haruo Sotozaki as director, Akira Matsushima as character designer and chief animation director, Yūko Ōmae as color designer, Yūichi Terao as photography director, Kazuki Nishiwaki as 3D director, Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina as music composers, and Miyuki Satō, Yōko Kajiyama, and Mika Kikuchi are participating as sub character designers and character designers.

Ufotable is the animation production studio and is also credited with script production.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- first aired in 2019 with 26 episodes, with Mugen Train releasing in 2020. Both are based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was first serialized in 2016 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and ended with 211 chapters in 2020 with a total of 23 tankōbon volumes published.

Aniplex of America describes the first season as:

It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.
