Crunchyroll has announced that it will distribute That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond in “all major global territories” (except for Asia), with the film to release outside Japan sometime in early 2023. The movie is set to release in Japan in November.

The movie was announced in March as a completely new work that features a movie-original character and the involvement of the light novels’ author Fuse. 

The first season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime aired in 2019, while the second season aired in 2021 with split cours. A spin-off titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Slime Diaries also aired in 2021. The main staff of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 Part 2 includes Atsushi Nakayama as director, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu as series composer, Ryouma Ebata as character designer, and Takahiro Kishida as monster designer. Eight Bit is the animation production company.

Crunchyroll describes the anime as:

Corporate worker Mikami Satoru is stabbed by a random killer, and is reborn to an alternate world. But he turns out to be reborn a slime! Thrown into this new world with the name Rimuru, he begins his quest to create a world that’s welcoming to all races.

The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novels, which are illustrated by Mitz Vah, began in 2014 and have 19 volumes as of November 2021. The books are published under Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label. 

The story originated as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou. Aside from the anime, the light novels have inspired a manga adaptation, manga spin-offs, a children’s version, and games.
