Victoria Monét has won the award for Best New Artist at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. The other nominees in the category were Gracie Abrams, Fred again.., Ice Spice, Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, and The War and Treaty.

Monét was nominated for seven awards tonight. She has won for Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Her win in the Best New Artist category comes after years spent writing hit songs for other artists like Ariana Grande (“7 rings”) and Chloe x Halle (“Do It.”)

This year, the Recording Academy reduced the number of nominees in the “big four” categories — Album, Song, and Record of the Year, and Best New Artist — from 10 candidates to 8 after increasing the number in 2022.

The 66th Annual Grammy Awards is taking place on February 4, 2023, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
