Master P Says He’s Secured $2.5M Basketball Deal For Teen Son

Master P is one of Hip Hop’s ultimate hustlers and with the NCAA planning to change its rules to allow student athletes to get paid for their likeness, he’s getting ahead of the game.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, the New Orleans mogul revealed he’s already put in the plans to make his son Hercy Miller a millionaire by securing a $2.5 million deal for the 19-year-old prep star. Once the NCAA officially announces the rule change, Master P will sign the deal and Hercy will be on his way to becoming a millionaire even before he finishes a season at Tennessee State. He also says there’s a deal on the table for Hercy’s 15-year-old brother, Mercy Miller.

“We have a lot of deals on the table, not only for Hercy, but for [son] Mercy,” P told TMZ. “In August, the league is changing, the NCAA. You’ll be able to make money off your likeness, you’ll be able to do marketing deals. So, right now I have a deal on the table for Hercy for $2.5 million. He never even played a lick of [college] basketball.”

Hercy, a three-star recruit, picked Tennessee State over schools such as the University of Southern California, UCLA, Louisville, Missouri, LSU and Vanderbilt. He announced his decision not long before helping lead his high school squad to the Minnesota state championship.

“I want to be a leader and a dream of mine and a goal of mine is to change the narrative,” Miller told The Tennessean in March. “I want to show people you don’t have to go to one of these big schools, Power Five conference schools, just to be great. There are a lot of great people who came out of HBCUs or mid-major schools. I want to be the next one.”

Master P’s isn’t a stranger to making moves and deals in the world of sports. He famously inked former NFL All-Pro Ricky Williams to No Limit Sports, not long after Williams was the fifth pick in the 1998 NFL Draft.
