#Sasaki and Miyano Gets Cute New Trailer

The upcoming Sasaki and Miyano boys love anime has received a new trailer, which previews the opening song “Mabataki’ by Miracle Chimpanzee, the main characters’ dynamic, and various cute moments from the show. The show is set to premiere in Japan on January 9. 

Sasaki and Miyano is based on the manga by Shou Harusono, which began in 2016 and has seven tankoubon volumes as of November 2020. It also inspired a spin-off manga featuring side characters Taiga and Akira Kagiura, two light novels, and a drama CD. The manga is published under KADOKAWA’s Gene Pixiv label. 

Yen Press describes the story as:

It all started like a typical old-school boys’ love plotline—bad-boy senior meets adorably awkward underclassman, one of them falls in love, and so on and so forth. But although Miyano is a self-proclaimed boys’ love expert, he hasn’t quite realized…he’s in one himself. Which means it’s up to Sasaki to make sure their story has a happily ever after…!

The staff includes Shinji Ishihira (Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table) as director, Takahiro Ueno (Fairy Gone episode director) as assistant director, Yoshiko Nakamura (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) as series composer, Maki Fuujī (Our Love Has Always Been 10 Centimeters Apart) as character designer, Masaki Mayuzumi (Dr. Ramune -Mysterious Disease Specialist-) as art director, Katsuragi Imazato (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light) as color designer, Shinyo Kondou (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light) as photography director, and Kana Shibue (Devils’ Line) as music composer. Studio Deen is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yuusuke Shirai as Shoumei Sasaki, Souma Saitou as Yoshikazu Miyano, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Taiga Hirano, Yuuki Ono as Jirou Okasawara, Yuuma Uchida as Masato Hanzawa, Ryouhei Arai as Tasuke Kuresawa, and Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Gonzaburou Tashiro.
