When you hear the words "Kunihiko Ikuhara-directed anime," you know you're in for a treat, visually or thematically (or sometimes both!). This weekend during a Revolutionary Girl Utena retrospective panel at New York Comic Con Metaverse, director Ikuhara discussed that he's "working on [his] next work right now" and nothing else about the project. He also noted that he "always tries not to forget the sense of freedom that Utena gave," pouring his heart out for the series while he discussed the history of his work.
