#Sandra Lee wants credit for Cuomo’s same-sex marriage law

Sandra Lee feels betrayed at New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo taking credit for legalizing same-sex marriage — when she had pressured her ex into agreeing to it, according to friends.

Cuomo, 63, made the claim during his belligerent resignation speech Tuesday while crowing about making New York “the progressive capital of the nation.”

“Just think about what we did. We passed marriage equality, creating a new civil right, legalized love for the LGBTQ community and we generated a force for change that swept the nation,” he said as proof that he was “a fighter” for New Yorkers during his three terms in office.

His bragging immediately offended lifestyle guru Lee, 55, who was still in France with handsome new boyfriend Ben Youcef when she heard about her cheating ex’s resignation, sources said.

“Sandra was the one to fight for same-sex marriage, and she had to keep hounding Andrew to do it,” one friend told The Post.

“It was all Sandra, and for Andrew to take credit is so crass. What a jerk,” the friend said.

The celebrity chef had led the way campaigning for LGBTQ issues, inspired in part by her youngest brother, Johnny, who is gay.

That Cuomo was at least inspired by his then-partner appeared to be common knowledge when he helped sign the bill into law in June 2001.

At the time, the New York Times noted, “The pressure did not let up at home. Mr. Cuomo’s girlfriend, Sandra Lee, has a gay brother, and she frequently reminded the governor how much she wanted the law to change.”

While Cuomo “deeply, deeply” apologized to the 11 accusers he “offended” — while still denying sexual harassment — he has yet to say sorry to Lee for his appalling treatment during their 14-year relationship, friends say.

“Sandra is the only person who Andrew didn’t say sorry to — or thank, for that matter,” another source told The Post.

“She helped put him in the governor’s chair,” the source said.

“He has cut her out,” they said. “What he truly did is diminish the secret elements of a relationship, which were so demeaning — a committed relationship is no joke.”
