#Saiyuki Musical to Return with Its 9th Show "-Sunrise-" in February 2021

The musical adaptation of Kazuya Minekura's fantasy action manga Saiyuki started its history with its first show "-Go to the West-" in September 2008, and has been loved by the fans of the series for more than ten years.

Following its eighth show "-Oasis" in February 2020, its latest ninth show "-Sunrise-," which will be the final chapter of the Hazel Arc, is confirmed to be performed at Shinagawa Prince Hotell Stellar Ball in Tokyo and COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA WW Hall in Osaka in February 2021.

Hiroki Suzuki, who is now best known as Mikazuki Munechika in the Touken Ranbu stage play series and has played the role of Genjyo Sanzo since its first show, is confirmed to reprise the role once again. Kaori Miura, who has worked on the musical series since its third show "-God Child-," serves as writer/director.

Further details including ticket sales will be announced at a later date.

Message from Hiroki Suzuki:

"Thanks for your patience. The Hazel arc is now entering its climax. The clash with Ni Jianyi (Ukoku Sanzo Houshi) played by Mitsuru Karahashi-san, which I have been looking forward to, is expected to happen, so I'm especially fired up for this time around. With new cast members, we're aiming to reach the West Region and Tianzhu, and want to run through at full speed. Thank you for your support."
