Bananya invited everyone to design their dream character this summer. Fans were able to showcase their art to Bananya's creator, Akiyo Nagano, for a chance to win the Grand Prize of 6 Bananya and the Curious Bunch plushies. There were 175 extraordinary entries for Nagano-sensei to choose from.
CONTEST WINNERS
The Grand Prize Winner of the Bananya Art Contest was @sohilauraious's Geishanya!
Nagano-sensei said that the detailed print looked somehow familiar. She was surprised to see the small banana print on the kimono.
The Second Place Winner of the Bananya Art Contest was @Ricdandelion's Luchador Bananya!
Nagano-sensei liked how strong this Bananya looks! She also mentioned that the belt on the banana part is a great accent.
The Third Place Winner of the Bananya Art Contest was @CtaAya's Watermelonya!
Nagano-sensei pointed out that the idea of combining the different fruits, banana and watermelon, is very unique. She thinks the watermelon print works surprisingly well on the banana peel.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Choosing only three Bananyas out of nearly 200 entries was quite tough, so here are some more charming Bananyas!

Nagano-sensei said that this design looks so lucky with the Bananya completely covered in gold! She also mentioned that the writing on the peel really gives the design a "maneki neko" feel.
