“I just turned 31,” Wilson told Sports Illustrated. “I’m right at the beginning of my prime. I have so many more years left. At least 10-plus years left. I’m just getting started. That’s the fun part for me. My goal is to play another 15 years.”
Wilson, Seattle’s third-round pick (75th overall) in 2012, is coming off his third-straight Pro-Bowl season. In 2019, he posted a 66.1 completion percentage along with 4,110 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Leading the Seahawks to a Super Bowl win in 2013, Wilson holds the record for most wins by an NFL quarterback through seven seasons (75). In April 2019, Wilson signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension with Seattle, which made him the highest paid NFL player at the time.
Wilson’s goal mirrors that of Tom Brady, who’s beginning his first year with the Buccaneers after 20 seasons with the Patriots and is the oldest active player in the NFL at 43 years old.
