The first single from the bachata don’s upcoming album Formula Vol. 3.
After his hugely successful bachata boy band Aventura went on hiatus in 2009, Romeo Santos shared his debut solo album Formula, Vol. 1 in 2011. Eleven years, three more solo albums, and one very fire Aventura reunion later, Romeo Santos will share his fifth solo project Formula Vol. 3, release date TBD. Today, iIts first single and video “Sus Huellas” is out.
Santos’ comeback single doesn’t reinvent the wheel with its lovesick, tremulous balladry and skippy grooves, but it does serve as a reminder that his – ahem – formula has yet to be successfully replicated. Similarly, the song’s music video serves up the gleeful melodrama that’s become a Santos staple: he finds a beautiful woman at the club, takes her home, and she adds to his collection of scars, literally.
