#Resident Evil Game Characters We Want to See in Season 2

“Resident Evil Game Characters We Want to See in Season 2”

With a number of shows being canceled on Netflix, the streamer’s live-action Resident Evil has left fans pleading with the site to ensure that season 2 comes to pass. But as much as die-hard fans of the Resident Evil game expected to dislike the Netflix show, many turned heads as it ended up being what they hoped it would be. As many individuals took to Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit to express their overall satisfaction with the show, some fans were left on the edge of their seats for what and who was to come in the second season.

Even though the show deviated from the game, many viewers enjoyed it drastically and even went ahead and gave it a rating of 9.8/10 in recommending it to others. But even with the drama, gore, and uncertainty of tension, the thriller-filled video game did not match up to the show as it left several key characters. Fans have known, loved, and even feared these characters over the years.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

In an interview with Collider, showrunner Andrew Dabb stated how he put a spin on things to make the series differ from the franchise, saying:

“It was like, okay, if you’re going to do it, how can you make it feel different than what’s out there? Luckily, Resident Evil itself has a lot of elements that you can do that with, with the monsters and some of the backstory and the corporate maneuverings and the crazy conspiracies. Then they kind of allowed us — they being Netflix and Capcom — to build on that as well. So the games are the backstory, but we now are branching off into our own little world.”

Keeping our fingers crossed, here are some game characters we hope (and expect) to make an appearance in season 2.

Ada Wong Has Been Confirmed

In an interview with ScreenRant, Dabb mentioned how season 2 would feature one major video game character. Since fan favorite Ada Wong was name-dropped at the end of season 1, when asked if the character would appear in season 2, the showrunner stated, “Yes. 100%.” Now fans are wondering what her role in the storyline will be.

Could Sherry Birkin Be a Guardian to the Wesker Twins?

Fans have speculated about how Resident Evil 2’s Sherry Birkin could be featured in season 2. Many have concluded that as season 1 ended with the Wesker siblings somewhat traumatized, this would be the perfect entrance for Birkin. Having experience dealing with a Wesker being hunted by the Umbrella Corporation and having expertise in being alone, Sherry being a guardian of some sorts to the young Wesker siblings is worthy of a chef’s kiss.

Will Dr. Wesker’s Son, Jake Muller, Join the Fight?

Making it a family affair, what would Resident Evil really be without Jake Muller? Having the Wesker children a part of the show would pay homage to the game’s storyline and Resident Evil 6. As Lance Reddick’s Dr. Wesker was seen being cloned both before and after his demise and having a son, Jake, it would make for the perfect introduction to Jake Muller’s character making way into season 2.

Wesker’s laboratory-enhanced blood coursing through his veins would give him superhuman abilities, thus making him a fighting machine. After being seen in 2036’s Europe in Resident Evil 6, the series’s timeline allows everything to match and fit perfectly.

Fans Want to See a Live-Action Lady Dimitrescu

Saving the best for last, the large and in charge mutant human aristocrat sparked waves since her debut in Resident Evil Village’s teaser trailer. After getting a glimpse of the Lady herself in the 2021 horror game, an appearance from Lady Dimitrescu would be a treat that fans would adore. All over the internet, Lady Dimitrescu has been loved, but as she met her demise in Village, the upbringing of her character would be perfect as reactions would skyrocket to see a live-action Lady Dimitrescu.

Will Resident Evil be Another Netflix Show Canceled?

After the show’s debut and fans got to streaming, Dabb was welcomed with poor reviews at first by Resident Evil fans. But slowly, as the show began to earn a pretty substantial following, many changed their minds about the new outlook of the show. With viewers stating that it is “not as bad” as 2021’s Resident Evil: Return to Raccoon City, it still is not worthy of seeing the light of the television.

When seated with Screenrant, Dab stated that the series should get a season 2 from Netflix. As he confirmed that Ada Wong would definitely appear in the second season, the news set fans alight with joy as the beloved character would be seen and experienced by new eyes in the world of Resident Evil.

Leaving fans wanting more, only time will tell if Netflix will give the show a chance to show off and return in season 2 or cut all ties with what we currently have with Resident Evil. But even if the show takes a turn for the worst and Netflix decides to cut the show short, it was a great run and a great experience to see Resident Evil through the eyes of Dabb.
