Kesha has parted ways with both her management and Kemosabe Records, the label owned by Dr. Luke a.k.a. Lukasz Gottwald, Variety reports. Her five-album contract was fulfilled with the release of Gag Order this year.

The end of Kesha’s relationship with Kemosabe is the conclusion of a fraught, near-decade-spanning conflict between the singer and Gottwald. In 2014, Kesha accused Gottwald of drugging and raping her, a claim Gottwald denied. The two parties went back and forth in multiple court cases, the most recent being a defamation suit brought by Gottwald against Kesha in New York (Variety reports that her split from her management company Vector Management was “amicable”).

Scheduled to begin in 2024, the defamation suit was settled out of court, and a joint statement marked the end of the legal battles. “I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one,” Kesha said. Gottwald maintained his innocence, writing “I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone.”

The FADER has reached out to Kesha’s representative for more information.
